The plan for No. 17
This par 3 places water between the teeing area and a green with a bunker behind and to the right. The club highlights water and wind as the central challenge. The current scorecard’s selected tee yardage should govern preparation; the map anchor does not identify a named marker.
Off the tee
Confirm the required water carry from the tee marker you are using, then allow for wind and normal contact variation. A target well inside the green gives more protection than an edge line. Check the room beyond the target so extra club does not simply exchange water for sand.
Approach & recovery
The tee shot is the approach. Commit to a landing distance on the putting surface rather than steering toward the nearest dry-looking edge. If a recovery is needed, inspect the remaining water and bunker positions from the new angle before choosing the shot.
On the green
The club describes a generally back-to-front slope. Use that as an orientation cue, then inspect the exact putt and cup position. A ball on the central surface leaves a clearer next decision than a short-sided miss beside the lake.
Watch for
- Water across the approach and left of the green; bunker behind and right.
