The plan for No. 10
The back nine opens with water along the right side of the driving corridor and sand around the left of the green. A centered tee shot sets up an approach that does not need to flirt with either feature. Keep the plan tied to the actual landing width.
Off the tee
Check where the right-side water ends relative to your expected drive. Aiming away from it still needs a defined fairway target, because an excessive left miss creates a different recovery. Allow for the ball’s normal curvature and release.
Approach & recovery
The second shot approaches a green with visible sand on its left. Use the center of the green as the starting target and adjust only when the flag location and your lie justify the change. Avoid selecting a line solely because it makes the bunker disappear from view.
On the green
The green’s outline tapers into its surrounding approach. Aiming well inside that outline leaves more room than chasing the edge beside the bunker. Once putting, use the current cup location and the surface underfoot to judge speed and break.
Watch for
- Water right of the drive; fairway and left-side greenside sand affect the next shot.
