The plan for No. 4
The fourth asks for a disciplined miss along the coastal bluff. There is useful room on the inland side, but its fairway bunkers still need a plan; aiming away from the cliff does not make the drive automatic.
Off the tee
Set a fairway target with margin from the bluff on the left. The right-side bunker cluster occupies part of the landing zone, so compare carrying it with finishing short or alongside it using your own distance range.
Approach & recovery
The green tapers toward the back and a front bunker interrupts the direct entrance. With a long approach, choose the broadest usable part of the putting surface. From sand or heavy rough, a controlled advance that preserves the next shot can be better than forcing a narrow back target.
On the green
The preview shows a broader front section and a slender rear extension, with slope changes between them. A back flag offers less lateral room than the full green outline suggests; plan for where the ball can stop as well as where it lands.
Watch for
- Bluff down the left
- Right fairway bunker cluster
- Front bunker and narrow rear green section
