The plan for No. 14

The fourteenth bends left beside the canyon. Position helps open the green, but gaining an angle is worth little if the tee shot brings the ravine into your normal miss pattern.

Off the tee

The inside left edge is defended by fairway bunkers as well as the canyon. Pick a central target with sufficient margin rather than trying to clip the corner. A shot that stays in the wider corridor still leaves a playable route to the green.

Approach & recovery

The green is offset left of the main fairway, with bunkers around its entrance and right side. Check how the available landing depth changes from your position; if the angle is poor, choose the part of the surface you can reach without forcing a curve.

On the green

The outline has two broader ends joined through a narrower middle. A stronger diagonal slope band appears near that connection, so a putt between sections may need more attention to pace than the overall green size suggests.

Watch for

  • Canyon and bunkers inside the left turn
  • Offset approach angle
  • Narrow connection between broader green sections
