About TPC Southwind

Course Story

Nestled in the heart of Memphis, TPC Southwind stands as one of the PGA Tour's most formidable championship tests, a course that has earned its reputation through decades of professional tournament play. Since opening its doors in 1988, this Tournament Players Club has evolved into a venue where precision and strategy trump raw power, challenging golfers with a masterful blend of water hazards, strategic bunkering, and demanding green complexes.

The course's character is defined by its meticulous conditioning and strategic design elements that create multiple decision points throughout the round. With 94 bunkers strategically positioned across the layout and ten water hazards coming into play, TPC Southwind was ranked ninth in difficulty among all PGA Tour venues in 2011. The flat Memphis terrain allows for excellent sight lines and strategic planning, while the multiple grass varieties ensure consistent playing conditions year-round.
