The plan for No. 6

The first par 5 on the everyday scorecard bends around a ravine on the right. Build the hole around a useful second-shot finish; getting closer only helps if the next approach remains open and controllable.

Off the tee

Give the ravine-side edge room. A chain of bunkers runs down the left side and provides distance references, but those bunkers are obstacles rather than mandatory aiming points. Select the fairway section that fits the day’s tee and your shot shape.

Approach & recovery

The hole straightens toward a green protected on both sides. Before attempting a long second, compare the likely miss with a layup into the central approach. A recovery from the right-side vegetation or an awkward bunker can remove the advantage of being nearer.

On the green

The long putting surface has several distinct slope bands in the dated preview. Choose a landing section with space for rollout; a ball that crosses one of those transitions can finish much farther from the flag than its initial landing suggests.
