About East Lake Golf Club
East Lake began in 1904, Donald Ross established the routing in 1913, and the club later hosted the 1950 U.S. Women's Amateur, the 1963 Ryder Cup, and its first TOUR Championship in 1998. The 2023-24 restoration rebuilt every tee, green, fairway, and bunker using a 1949 aerial photograph and historic documentation as guides. Wider strategic lines, offset bunkers, short-grass recoveries, and greens with distinct sections replaced a more one-dimensional test. This release follows the club's permanent par-72 routing: four par 5s, four par 3s, and five published physical tee sets.

Treat East Lake as a course of angles and sections, not a list of generic lay-up numbers. Andrew Green described using moved greens and recovered width to make the course turn and create varied lines; the restored bunkers often sit inside those preferred lines, while fairway rolls and short grass can move a good-looking shot away from its target. Use the shared aerial for the day's tee and mapped hazard edges, then use the contour panel to choose the correct green section. Tournament commentary is useful context, but temporary par and tee changes do not replace the club's permanent scorecard.

Use mapped hazard front and clear edges as references for the selected tee; do not turn a single hazard distance into an automatic lay-up.
Favor the green section that leaves an uphill or across-slope putt when the contour panel shows a severe edge or roll-off.
Seasonal Playing Conditions
Bermuda rough, Zorro Zoysia fairways, TifEagle greens, firmness, wind, and tournament preparation can materially change rollout and recovery difficulty. Scottie Scheffler described the 2026 TOUR Championship rough as unusually healthy and effectively hack-out rough. That event uses a temporary par-70, 7,440-yard setup with Nos. 1 and 14 converted to par 4s; it does not replace the club's permanent par-72 scorecard.
