Hole 3 at Onion Creek Club is a dogleg left par 4, playing 342 yards from the championship tees. It has an elevated tee box, giving you a great view of the fairway and green below. The fairway is 33 yards wide with slight curves to the left, so aim your tee shot slightly right for maximum distance. There are three bunkers along the way that come into play off of errant shots, but only two percent of them are greenside bunkers.
The approach shot plays to an average sized green which measures 3623 square feet in size and slopes gently from back to front. Depending on where you're hitting from off the tee, club selection can vary greatly here as temperature and altitude changes across each season will affect ball flight conditions significantly. In summer months when temperatures tend to be higher than normal it may require a longer iron or hybrid club due to increased air density; whereas in winter months when temperatures are lower than normal it might call for more lofted clubs like a 7 iron or pitching wedge due to decreased air density. Aiming at either side of this relatively flat green should leave you with an opportunity for birdie or par depending on how aggressive (or conservative) your approach is!
