Hole 7 at Onion Creek Club in Austin, Texas is a par 3 that plays very differently depending on the tee box you choose. From the Women's tees, this 142 yard hole is rated as a 15 handicap and offers an opportunity to make birdie with a well-struck shot. From the Championship tees it plays much longer at 226 yards and has been rated as a 17 handicap. The Pro tees offer an intermediate option at 191 yards and also carries the same 17 handicap rating. The green area of 9366 square feet provides ample room for approach shots but watch out for the 4% greenside bunkers which can be tricky if you miss your target spot by even just a few feet!

The local weather conditions will play an important role in how this hole should be approached from both off the tee and into the green. During warmer months, altitude could cause drives to fly further than normal while windy days may require more club selection when hitting off of each tee box due to increased ball flight resistance from headwinds or tailwinds. In colder temperatures, expect shorter distances on drives due to decreased air density causing less lift on shots leading to lower carry distances overall regardless of club used.

Given average driving distance for our golfer (217 yards), they would likely need either their 5 iron or 7 iron off of the Championship Tee Box; 6 iron or 8 iron from Pro Tees; and pitching wedge or 9 iron from Women's Tees in order hit their target spot safely onto this large green surface without running up against any sand traps near its perimeter edges!

Club Recommendations

When playing Hole 7 at Onion Creek Club, the best approach is to pick a tee box that suits your skill level and distance off the tee. If you are feeling confident in your driver, then go for it from either the Championship or Pro Tee Boxes. However, if you don't feel comfortable with this club selection then opt for the Women's Tees which will require less carry distance overall. Also pay attention to local weather conditions as they can affect ball flight distances significantly when hitting off of each tee box. Finally, remember that this hole has 4% greenside bunkers so be sure to pick an appropriate club selection into the green that won't run up against them!
