Hole 6 at Onion Creek Club is a 357 yard, par 4 with a slight dogleg right. From the Championship tees, the hole plays 336 yards from the Pro tees and 241 yards from the Women's tees. The fairway width is 38 yards wide and features one bunker on its left side near the green. The green area of 4729 square feet has 1% greenside bunkers which can be challenging for golfers who don't hit their tee shots accurately.

The weather in Austin varies greatly throughout each season; during springtime temperatures range between 50-80 degrees Fahrenheit with an average altitude of around 800ft above sea level making it ideal for long drives off of the tee box as well as approaches to this relatively straight forward hole. During summer months temperatures are usually between 70-95 degrees Fahrenheit with an average wind speed of 5 mph which can affect ball flight conditions and club selection when hitting your approach shot into Hole 6’s large green area. In Autumn, temperatures drop back down to 50-80 degrees Fahrenheit while fall winds tend to pick up slightly reaching speeds up to 8 mph making accuracy even more important when playing this hole due to trees lining both sides of Hole 6’s fairway. Finally, wintertime brings colder weather ranging from 40-60 degree Fahrenheit days along with gusty winds that could reach upwards of 10mph or more adding additional challenge when selecting clubs off the tee box and into this large green area surrounded by bunkers on all sides.

Given these conditions, golfers should choose their clubs carefully depending on their skill level; experienced players may want to consider a driver off of the Tee Box followed by either a 7 iron or pitching wedge depending on how far they are able reach in optimal conditions (217 yards for driver, 140 yards for 7 iron & 120 yards for pitching wedge).
