About Pinehurst Resort #7
Carved from the most dramatic and rugged terrain at the legendary Pinehurst Resort, Course No. 7 stands as Rees Jones' bold interpretation of Carolina Sandhills golf, where elevation changes and natural wetlands create a distinctly different challenge from its more famous siblings. This 1986 design unfolds across rolling hills that dip into marshy lowlands, creating a layout where every hole presents a unique test of skill and course management.
The course's character is defined by its dramatic topography and strategic complexity. With 75 bunkers strategically placed throughout the layout and 25 acres of wetlands threading through the lower-lying areas, No. 7 demands precision and thoughtful navigation. The signature feature that sets this course apart is the prevalence of elevated greens – 13 of the 18 putting surfaces sit above fairway level, making approach shot accuracy paramount to scoring success.
