The plan for No. 9
Finish by separating the foreground sand from the small target beyond it.
Off the tee
Check the actual distance and choose a club that reaches the putting surface comfortably. A short shot into the foreground sand leaves another demanding pitch. From this tee the green is 107 yards to the front, 118 to the center and 127 to the back. Carrying front bunker 1 takes 38 yards. Carrying front bunker 2 takes 65 yards.
Approach & recovery
From a missed green, choose the broad portion as the recovery target. The bunker beside the rear-right edge reduces the room for an aggressive finish.
On the green
The compact target rewards a ball safely on the surface. Take the time to read the closing putt rather than rushing because the course is short.
Watch for
- Foreground sand
- Rear-right bunker
