The plan for No. 8
Choose the broad putting surface with room from the left bunker group.
Off the tee
Select a short club around the actual markers and wind. A central or slightly rightward target can keep the clustered left sand out of the intended miss. From this tee the green is 66 yards to the front, 86 to the center and 99 to the back.
Approach & recovery
If the ball finishes in sand, aim the recovery at enough green to stop. A pin near that edge should not pull the recovery back toward the lip.
On the green
The target has several rounded edges. Pick the part of the surface your shot can reliably hold, then work out the first putt from there.
Watch for
- Left bunker group
- Short-right sand
- Rounded green edges
