Players should be mindful of local weather conditions when playing this hole as altitude, temperature and/or wind can impact ball flight conditions significantly here due to its location in Carlsbad, California 92009. In summer months temperatures can reach up to 90F while winter brings more mild temperatures ranging between 50-60F during day time hours. Wind speeds may also increase throughout all seasons making it important for players to adjust their club accordingly for accuracy off the tee shot and approach shots into the green.

The optimal strategy for this hole would be to hit your driver off the tee aiming slightly left center so you have an open view of your second shot into this long par 5. With a 217 yard drive average distance you should aim to land somewhere around 270-280 yards out leaving yourself approximately 200-210 yards into one of La Costa’s most beautiful holes featuring rolling hills surrounding its well guarded green with water just short left side before it reaches putting surface adding extra challenge if not managed properly off your second shot using 7 iron or pitching wedge depending on how far away you will end up after your first strike with driver..

Club Recommendations

If you do find yourself in one of the four bunkers, make sure to use a sand wedge and take an extra club to ensure your ball is out of the bunker before reaching the green. Take into consideration that this hole has a slight dogleg to the right so be mindful not to overshoot it as there are trees located on both sides of fairway making recovery from a wayward tee shot difficult.

The green itself is 6018 sq ft in size with subtle breaks that can easily be missed if not paying close attention when putting. Be aware that while putting here, speed control will be key as any putts hit too hard may end up running off surface or leaving you with longer more challenging second putt for birdie opportunity.
