George W. Dunne National Golf Course Hole by Hole - 4th Hole

Hole 4 at George W. Dunne National Golf Course is a challenging par 4 that requires precision and strategy from the tee to the green. Located in Oak Forest, Illinois, this championship course offers beautiful views and varying weather conditions throughout the year.

From the championship tees, Hole 4 measures a daunting 430 yards with a slight dogleg left. The distance alone makes it one of the longer holes on the course but add in its handicap ranking of 3 and you have yourself quite a test. However, don't let that intimidate you as there are ways to tackle this hole for optimal scoring.

During warmer months (spring and summer), players may experience higher temperatures which can lead to increased ball flight distances due to decreased air density. This could work in your favor on this hole as it will help offset some of its length. But be cautious during colder months (fall and winter) as lower temperatures can decrease ball flight distance.

Off the tee, our recommendation would be for an accurate driver shot around 217 yards towards the center or slightly right side of fairway where it opens up more towards the green approach area. This should leave you with about a 7 iron (~140 yards) into an elevated green complex surrounded by four bunkers - greenside bunkers make up only about three percent of total bunker count so keep your focus on accuracy rather than avoiding sand traps.

The approach shot will require good club selection based on pin placement and wind direction/velocity if any present at time being played plus elevation changes from tee-to-green; typically we recommend taking one less club than normal here given uphill nature leading into putting surface which measures approximately ~13,450 square feet which is fairly large making two putts possible even if not close proximity after second stroke onto green complex regardless what type player skill level presents itself out there playing today!
