Cherokee Town & Country Club (North) Hole by Hole - 9th Hole

Hole 9 at Cherokee Town & Country Club (North) is a challenging par 5, measuring 587 yards from the Men's tee box and 566 yards from the Women's. It has a slight dogleg left that requires players to shape their drive off the tee in order to set up an approach shot into the green. The fairway is fairly wide at 38 yards but there are 6 bunkers placed strategically throughout the hole, with 1% of them located greenside.

The altitude of Atlanta means that golfers can expect some extra carry on their drives compared to sea level courses, particularly during warmer months when temperatures rise and air density decreases. This can be beneficial for long hitters who need to reach this long Par 5 in two shots; however, they should still stay mindful of wind conditions which could alter ball flight direction significantly depending on its strength and direction.

For golfers who don't hit it as far off the tee, club selection will be key here: a driver or 3-wood may work best for most players due to distance considerations combined with accuracy needs; however, if you're playing into a strong headwind then opting for something like an iron may provide more control over your shot shape while still allowing you enough yardage to get close enough for your second shot.
