The CRMC Championship was founded in 2022 at Cragun's Legacy Courses in Brainerd, Minnesota, debuting as the first PGA Tour Canada event ever staged in the United States before the circuit was rebranded as PGA Tour Americas for the 2024 season. Jake Knapp won the inaugural event and Michael Brennan captured the 2025 title in a playoff over Derek Hitchner; both Knapp's 2022 and Brennan's 2025 totals reached 26-under par, the low winning score in the event's short history. The tournament was named PGA Tour Americas Tournament of the Year for 2025 (and PGA Tour Canada Tournament of the Year for 2023), and titles have carried the presenting sponsors Gertens (2022-2024) and Northern Pacific Center (2025).
