Hole 4 at Sand Hills Golf Club is a par 4 with an impressive length of 485 yards from the Championship tees and 409 yards from the Pro tees. It has a slight dogleg left, so players will need to keep their tee shot in play off the tee to set up for a successful approach shot. The fairway width is approximately 66 yards, providing plenty of room for error on your drive. There are three bunkers along the hole but none around the green, making it easier to get onto the putting surface in regulation.

The green area measures 8045 sq ft., giving you plenty of room to work with when choosing your approach club selection. Depending on local weather conditions such as altitude, temperature and wind speed, golfers should consider using a driver that goes ~217 yards or less (as seen in chart), 7 iron ~140 yards or pitching wedge ~120 yards depending on how much they want to challenge themselves off the tee box and leave themselves an easier second shot into this long Par 4 hole.

Club Recommendations

When teeing off, aim to the right side of the fairway as this will give you a better angle into the green. Avoid hitting too far left as there are three bunkers that could cause trouble for your approach shot. When selecting an approach club, consider taking an extra club if you’re playing into a headwind and choose one less if it’s tailwind conditions. The green is quite large so take advantage of its size by aiming at the pin rather than just trying to hit onto it safely.

Finally, keep in mind that this is a long Par 4 hole and try not to get too aggressive with your shots during play - focus on accuracy over distance!
