Welcome to the 15th hole at Yellowstone Country Club! This par 4, 357 yard hole is a true test of accuracy and strategy. As you approach the tee box from our beautiful clubhouse, take note of the slight dogleg right that awaits you.

At an altitude of over 3,000 feet above sea level in Billings, Montana, this course offers unique challenges for golfers. The thinner air may cause your ball to travel farther than usual, so be mindful when selecting your club for both your tee shot and approach.

For your average golfer who hits their driver around 217 yards, we recommend aiming towards the left side of the fairway off the tee. This will give you a better angle for your approach shot while avoiding any potential trouble on the right side with bunkers and rough.

Speaking of bunkers, there are four strategically placed throughout this hole. However, greenside bunkers make up only 1% of total bunker coverage on this green. So although they shouldn't be ignored completely, they should not greatly impact your decision making.

As you near the green area which measures at a spacious 6,848 square feet (over double that of an average size green), consider using a pitching wedge for your approach if you hit it around 120 yards or less. For those hitting closer to their max distance with a pitching wedge (140 yards), we suggest aiming slightly past the pin as there is plenty of room behind it to avoid overshooting into any potential hazards or out-of-bounds areas.

The weather here in Billings can vary greatly across all four seasons - from hot summers reaching into triple digits to cold winters dipping below freezing temperatures. Be sure to adjust accordingly when playing this hole based on temperature and wind conditions.

With its strategic layout and varying challenges depending on weather conditions throughout each season, Hole #15 at Yellowstone Country Club is truly one that requires precision and careful planning. Good luck and happy golfing!
