Giant's Ridge Golf and Ski Resort (The Quarry Course) Hole by Hole - 11th Hole

Welcome to the 11th hole at Giant's Ridge Golf and Ski Resort (The Quarry Course)! This par 3 is a challenging yet picturesque hole that will test your accuracy and precision. Located in Biwabik, Minnesota with an altitude of approximately 1,500 feet above sea level, this course offers unique challenges depending on the season.

During the spring and summer months, you can expect mild temperatures with occasional gusts of wind coming from the nearby lake. The cooler air at this altitude may cause your ball to fly slightly shorter distances than usual, so be sure to take that into consideration when selecting clubs.

From the "championship" tees, this hole plays at a distance of 158 yards. For our average golfer who hits their driver around 217 yards off the tee, I would recommend using a mid-iron such as a 7 iron or even an 8 iron for better control. The green area measures at approximately 5,097 square feet with three strategically placed bunkers guarding it. However, only about two percent of these bunkers are located greenside which makes them less likely to come into play during your approach shot.

As we move towards fall and winter seasons in Minnesota where temperatures drop significantly and winds can pick up speed due to lower atmospheric pressure caused by colder air masses moving southward from Canada over Lake Superior - you may want to consider adding one more club for added distance on your approach shots.

Regardless of which tees you're playing from or what time of year it is - always aim for the center of this undulating green complex as any missed shots could result in difficult uphill or downhill putts due to its sloping nature.
