Hole 16 at Woodholme Country Club is a 505-yard par 5 with a slight dogleg left. From the Pro tees, it's a challenging hole and requires accurate tee shots to avoid the five bunkers that line the fairway. The fairway width of 44 yards allows for some forgiveness off the tee, but you'll still need to hit it straight in order to set up your approach shot.
The green is 9550 square feet and sits on slightly elevated terrain, so be aware of how altitude can affect ball flight during different times of year - particularly when playing in windy conditions during spring or fall months. There are only 1% greenside bunkers around this green so if you're able to get on in two shots, you should have an opportunity for birdie or even better depending on your approach accuracy.
For longer hitters who are looking to go for this green in two shots from the Pro Tees, club selection will be important as hitting your driver too far could leave you blocked out by trees down the left side of the fairway. For most golfers though from either Men’s or Women’s tees, they will likely need three well-struck shots with their driver followed by 7 iron and pitching wedge respectively to reach this green safely in regulation play.
