Hole 16 at TPC Scottsdale Stadium Course is a par 3, 162 yards from the championship tees. It has an elevated tee box with a slight dogleg left. The green is protected by five bunkers which account for 4% of the total green area. With its length, it can be reached in two shots for most golfers and offers a great birdie opportunity if you hit your approach shot close enough to make up and down. In summer months, the altitude and dry conditions may cause your ball to fly further than expected due to less air resistance so club selection off the tee should take this into account as well as wind direction that day. From the championship tees, most golfers will need their 7 iron or pitching wedge for their second shot while players who hit around 217 yards off the tee may reach with a 9 iron or pitching wedge depending on wind conditions that day.

Club Recommendations

1. Club selection is key on this hole as the dry conditions and altitude can cause your ball to fly further than expected. Consider wind direction when selecting a club off the tee, as well as if you are able to reach the green in two shots with a 7 iron or pitching wedge from the championship tees.

2. This is an excellent birdie opportunity if you hit your approach shot close enough for an up-and-down, so be sure to choose a club that will allow you to get close to the pin without overshooting it into one of the five bunkers protecting 4% of total green area.

3. The slight dogleg left should be taken into account when aiming off the tee and choosing which side of fairway provides best angle for second shot onto green - aim towards right side of fairway if possible for better angle onto green but beware of bunkers located there too!

4. If you are hitting around 217 yards off tee, consider using 9 iron instead of pitching wedge depending on wind conditions that day; this could give extra distance needed for reaching green in two shots with more accuracy than pitching wedge would provide given elevation change and dogleg left present at TPC Scottsdale Stadium Course’s Hole 16!
